Lara Britton

Lara Britton, a native Texan, graduated from IU Bloomington with a Bachelor's degree in Voice. She also holds a Master's degree in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She was a pianist for eighteen years and performed comedy, musicals and opera before she concentrated on early music. Her area of specialty is late Renaissance through early Baroque Italian solo music, with emphasis on women composers and performers. Recent performances include concerts with the music of Barbara Strozzi and Jean-Phillipe Rameau, roles in Handel's Rinaldo and Purcell's King Arthur, Mabel in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, Arianna in Vivaldi's Il Giustino as well as solo performances with the Texas Early Music Project. She currently studies voice with Rose Taylor and coaches with Daniel Johnson.
